Even DP had slightly wet eyes. The teachers were in pieces and wouldn't let Lottie go, they held onto her till last. They bought her really thoughtful presents and clung to me in tears and I them!

When I put her to bed tonight we 'discussed' the day and said "byebye Ms X, all gone, all finished".

How were your last days?

aww they sound lovely

our last day isn't till the 25th (I think) but I will probably be a bit wet eyed as they are the same teachers who had my dd aswell and they have been absolutely fantastic with both my children (and ds is my last one so this goodbye will be final!) - I couldn't have asked for more from a nursery

yorkiegirl - DS was like that. He was actually upset when he realised he wouldn't be going back to nursery. Although I think the blow was lessened by calling in regularly to drop off/pick up DD.

dd1 finishes next friday but wont be going at all now as she has caught an early preschool leaving present -hand ,foot and mouth disease

Looks like last few days are going to be disasterous. They were doing a special packed lunch event. It's one of the sessions where DD is supposed to go in by herself, anyway, but in recent weeks she begs me to come in with her. I usually leave after a few minutes. Keyworker really didn't want me to come in at all and overcrowd the place, and DD refused to enter without me.

SO, DD didn't go in at all. I didn't see how it would benefit her to to be dragged inside against her will. So, that really established a lot for her independence, didn't it? [sigh]

When my DS finished nursery last year, he was fine. Me? I didn't even make it to the school gates before I started crying!! The nursery is attached to the school so I pass it everyday dropping DS off, I actually kinda miss going in there!!

Flack, I'm sorry to hear about your DD. I agree that making her go in alone against her will wouldn't do her any good, I think they're too young to go in alone anyway.

I cried last week as I was at work on the actual last day, cried when I wrote the thank you cards, cried when I read her reports ......
Dd2 keeps saying playschool on Monday and cries when I say its finished
