hello, i am thinking of moving half the week to the countryside where, the days i would be there, there is 3 days of a nursery i've seen and liked the look of. but my official address will be in london. do you know if i can send my child to nursery in my '2nd home' catchment area? i will be getting 15 hours free nursery as i am on a low wage and on my own, but i am worried i will have to be officially registered as living down there. any ideas much appreciated. thankyou x

A pre-school may give priority to local children if they are oversubscribed but there's no catchment area as such. My DS went to pre-school near my work instead of home as it was more convenient.

thanks so much noble, that's good news. it is a long way off, but would the same apply to (state) primary schools too do you know? sorry to throw another question at you! x

Primary schools do mostly require you to live near the school and they would take as your home address the place where your child lives most of the time. They can check this.
