What days/patterns are best for starting preschool?

My ds will be starting pre school soon. He will be attending three times a week and I was wondering what days are best to request? I was thinking Mon, Wed, Friday so he can have a little break every other day as he will have to drop his naps.

My friend said that it is better to do three days back to back i.e Tues, Wed, Thurs?

Does anyone have any thoughts on what did or didn't work for them. I am willing to be totally flexible so he gets the best experience.

My DD started with Mon and Weds am at 2.5. The preschool suggested having a day in between at the start as they can get so tired. When she gets funding at Easter she will go all day Monday and Tuesday, and weds am. But she has not had a nap since before the summer. I think the settling in is less of an issue, as in they either settle or they don't, it's the nature of the child. It also helps me at the moment to have a day in between as hauling myself out of the house by 8.30am is proving harder than anticipated, lol.

My DS started pre school it september and just does two days, monday and tuesday. I was unsure about 2 days in a row but with hindsight i think it's better for him as he knows its playschool two days at start of week, whereas if he was going some days then having break i don't think he would know where he was. he had already dropped his day time nap anyway and his pre school is only 9-12 anyway.

They do get tired with the huge amount of stimulation in a nursery. I second having a gap at some point. Also, you could go for a quiet day. Fridays are usually lowest on numbers which means your child will usually get more attention. Go for Mon, Wed and Fri.

Also, for some strange reason, staff are usually happiest on Fridays too.
