I work in a preschool 3 days a week, my hours are fixed. I love my job and now would like to become qualified.

I cannot do a foundation degree as I don't have enough experience and the level 3 courses at my nearest college are full time. I do already have a degree but it is not childcare related.

Does anyone know of any distance learning courses that have a recognised qualification attached? I really want to do a level 3 course.

It is driving me mad trying to find something that fits with my work and small children's school hours. I have asked my boss but she is useless!

Any help would be much appreciated.

As a mature student i did my level 3 childcare with Aspiration Training. i had to attend a class every other week for 12 weeks to complete my key skills then all the units were brought to me by my tutor. I completed it in 9 months. The younger girls at the nursery were doing their training with Platinum Training
Try looking on google for suitable training centers/courses near to you.
Also as an adult/mature learner i didn't have to pay for the course just for the traveling to get to where we were doing our key skills

Thechildcarecompany ...google them ...do online courses. The children and young peoples workforce diploma is the equivilant of the NVQ Level 3.They are really helpful if you call them and you should get full funding through them or by your pre school applying to the local authority.I'm doing mine at the moment. You just need to be working 16 hours a week.

By the way..I already have a non childcare degree as well but I still got almost full funding. Its around £1200 if self funded.

Have you looked into EYPS? With your degree you could be looking at a level 6 status instead. Or if it is level 3 you are interested have you considered contacting your local education authority? Good luck.
