DD3.3 starting pre-school in Sept. She's very small for her age, currently in 18-24m (Next, M&S, Asda) age 2 (Primark). Think the biggest she'll be by Sept is age 2. Anywhere I can get tiny uniform? Dont want her to look like last of 11!

Thanks for all your suggestions, great to know that about John Lewis emsi. By the way Pyrrah, what shop can you order the start rites in? Shoes are my next mission as DD is only 5.5

How about getting the uniforms professionally altered (buy the nearest size you can). I got a suit once really re-altered as I was a funny shape at that time - losing weight after pregnancy and they did a fantasic job / didn't cost too much. A bit expensive for uniforms - but will give your little one a more fitted look and you might only have to do it ths yr.

If your interested find a dry cleaners that does alterations and they will normally recommend someone. Uniform hunting is a pain - good luck!

I had the same issue. She's 3 (June baby) and wearing a 2yrs old clothing (and JUST out grew the M&S 18-24 month old trousers). I got her a skirt at ASDA. The skirt is A line with elastics and so when she wears it, she feels kind of like a princess :D To me it was more likes a 50s Poodle skirt. The Tesco cotton dress, while big, looked good after it's tied back. Yes it's a bit long but body wise it looked ok. For the top, the 3-4 at all shops were too big. But, since we're Americans, I got my in-laws to buy us some smaller shirts from a shop called the Children's Place and I got her a 2T size tops (we have one now, from when dd1 was that age and the 18-24 month fits just right).

I am surprised that there are no 2-3 sizes. I mean some kids go to preschool early, ours accepts children at 2 yrs 9 months, and when we went to try out days, half the kids were not much bigger than dd2.

M&S does age 3 pinafores (£9) and white polos with scalloped collars (£6 for 2).

The jersey pinafores seem to fit so much better than the normal ones even if a bit long.

Pixiepie, I asked John Lewis in Oxford Street.
