Someone told me that in April or September this year the free nursery provision would be changed from 3 years to from 2 years. The person who said this wasn;t in the childcare field & haven't heard anything about it myself. Anyone know if it is true?
Thanks

There aren't any current plans for funding for all 2 year-olds, there is already funding for some of them and that will increase over the next few years so around 20% will be funded next academic year and 40% from Sept 2014. The criteria vary from area to area and the future funding criteria are still under review but it is intended to target the most disadvantaged 2 year-olds.

Thanks, am quite relieved really didn't want to feel as though I should be sending my dd2 to nursery at 2 unless I go back to work!
