Pyjamas to preschool for Children in Need

This probably sounds silly but as a newbie to preschool ways, I don't really know...
If it is "wear pyjamas" is it exactly that? With slippers and dressing gown? Or just regular clothes with jimjams on top? I did ask today but the lady said just get out of bed and come as he is. Which I took with a pinch of salt.
I know it's character building but I couldn't bear it for him to look like a wally - what do you recommend?

No its as it says on the tin go in pj's instead of clothes, dressing gown and slippers if he wants or normal shoes doesn't matter. If he goes in slippers send spare shoes with him for outdoor play Smile

We have been told to put warm clothes under their pyjamas. But ds2 spends most of his time outside so maybe that's why.

DD's preschool did this for something else earlier this year (Red nose day?) but it was warmer so I sent her in her pyjamas instead of clothes but with normal shoes and coat ISWIM.

when we did this I wore an extra layer underneath (plus my bra!!) to keep warm, and wore my dressing gown and slippers too - wore my shoes when outdoors. (I work in a pre-school). MOst of the children were similar, an extra layer on under the pjs if thinner ones, and lots wore dressing gowns and soem brought teddies too.
