that would work with a relunctant boy who hates colouring in...he can write his name but for example starts the letters in the wrong way....

The best thing I ever got for my boys was a whiteboard, dry wipe markers and a cloth. They write things on it, play hangman, draw - and I think they like the fact that if something goes badly wrong, it can be obliterated in seconds!

Playground chalks can help, as he might need to refine his gross motor skills before fine motor skills can be perfected.
