my son started pre-school yesterday, he goes every morning at our local school. He will be 4 in Nov. But a friend of mine who has a son the same age(well 6 weeks younger) has put on her facebook status that her son is now at school full time, as in all day.How can this be? I am in newark on trent, she is in Basford, both in Nottinghamshire.

Nope, she's on benefits so it won't be private school

Some people call nursery classes in schools "school", so the child could just have a full time nursery place.

She will still only receive 15 hours funding from the government. The rest will have to be paid for by her. There is often confusion about school and pre school, especially if in a school setting.
