Hi there! Today I just received a reply from the schools we applied to, and they both said they couldn't offer a place for DD for nursery for next course (she's 3, 4 in october) because there were too many children and with the cuts, they even had to reduce the number of places (I'm talking about state schools, I can't afford to send her to an independent one).

I'd be really greateful if anyone could give me advice on my options, or what I should do next. DD is currently using her 15 free hours at a private nursery and I was hoping to get a bit more of time when the course started.

Thanks

Why dont you try and increase the hours at the nursery she attends as you are only elidgeable for the same 15 hours at a school nursery as well without having to pay for extra and some school nurseries are only open for the early years educational entitlement anyway

at least she has a place at nursery! DS is 4 and I've been told he cannot start his place until Aug (we live in scotland). I'm still in disbelief as it's a state nursery attached to the primary school, but will have to entertain him for the next 12 weeks until he can get started there...

I'd also suggest what PP has suggested though, try and get more hours at the same nursery.
