What do to with a 17 month old in the Knightsbridge area

Hi everyone:

I wonder if someone can help me. We will be in the Knightsbridge area for about a month this Summer (july time) and I am looking for things to do with my then 17 month old daughter. Ideally I would like a daily mummy and me programme where she can interact with other children of her age.

Does anyone have any suggestions on perhaps pre-kindergartens, mommy and me programmes and so on?

Many thanks for your help.

It'll be the summer holidays, so you probably won't find any playgroups or other kind of parent groups running I'm afraid; they generally keep to school terms. Only private nurseries (e.g. childcare for those who work) will be open.

There's lots to do in London obviously - play in Hyde Park, the Lido, the museums, the playgrounds, the zoos/farm - just not organised groups.

It's true that some things might not be running, but our local NCT groups, for example (for toddlers and babies) generally run all year round. I think your local branch would be Kensington and Chelsea and this is their webpage nctpregnancyandbabycare.com/in-your-area/kensington. Had a quick look and there is no mention that things are term time only. In any case, if you get in contact they may be able to signpost you to other things too.

In our area Children's Centres also run programmes of summer activities for 0 -5 year olds. You could try looking here to get you started www.westminster.gov.uk/services/educationandlearning/childrensinformationservice/childrenscentre/knightsbridge-and-belgravia-childrens-centre-information/

Sorry, don't have any more local info but hopefully this might get you started.
