Hi, I'm new to the area and looking for recommendations in the Finchley area for my 2 year old son. He's already at nursery but he's not settling and I don't love it, I think I made a mistake. Are there any nurseries that you would recommend in the Finchley area? Any thoughts on Clowns or Annemount in the Hampstead area? Thanks!

Don't bother with Clowns nursery in Golders green. Despite reputation, it is pretty dodgy in there. Unfair classes allocation and arrogant /uncaring management. They are just after your money and NOT the welfare of the kids.
Pregnant mums ( potential for more business) or those living in the right postcode get best pick.
Look elsewhere if you care about your child's well being

Ask some mothers at playgroups. Ofsted reports are not the only thing to go on. My health visitor told me ones that needed extra early years support from them which actually made me think they would be better because they know they are being watched.

hi, my daughter has been going to active learning in finchley for almost 2 years and my son now has just started there. Personally I think it's a fab nursery. The staff and managemnt are very attentive, they cater for all types of foods and they have a weekly schedule of activities. For a 2 year old, they have lots of play time along with spanish and japanese lessons, sports, ballet etc but they learn through play

My four all went to Ely nursery (youngest left last year) and then went to Moss Hall school (very happy there). Ely staff are very warm and caring and the nursery is probably the most established of all the nurseries in the locality. I can't recommend it enough.

My LO has been at Ely for 10 months now and we love it, staff are lovely and they've been very flexible with extra days when needed. I would have no hesitations recommending Ely.

Hi all,

We would be grateful for recommendations for nurseries in Golders Green/HGS.

We are still on the waiting list for Clowns.

Anything other than the Finchley Day Nursery. Do not send your child there. We didn't have a good experience.

cab you elaborate how it's dodgy and what you mean by unfair class allocation?
