Pre school committee members working at pre school?

Short staffed at our local pre school due to flu and we are struggling to cover shifts. Does anyone know how we stand legally using committee members to cover some shifts as unqualified staff?

The pre school is a charity and I wondered if we would have a conflict of interests if committee members gain financially. This would be a one off for a couple of shifts.

Anyone know?

in similar circumstances a few years ago our chair did a couple of shifts, but she did it without payment to help out. I can see what you mean about conflict of interest - could you contact your PLA rep to ask for advice if you are in the PLA?

we sometimes employ one of our students to cover a shift if we are desperate.

Thanks.

Anyone else?
