Unlikely to get a preschool place - reassurance needed!

I'm looking for reassurance that DD won't suffer too much if (as seems very likely) she doesn't get a preschool place for this September.

We are not in the UK, and there is a chronic shortage of places where we live - something like 3 kids for every available place.

We have put her name down for all the local state preschools, but I am not very optimistic about our chances. There would be more chance of a private place, but we just wouldn't be able to afford it.

Please tell me that she will be OK staying at home with me, and the new baby which will be arriving in the summer. I'm concerned the baby will prevent we from spending as much quality time with DD - and I'm also worried she'll lose out socially by not being at preschool :(

I do not think she will miss out.
Enjoy the time you have with her.
Maybe arrange play dates for her to socialise.
Try and do lots of varying activities with her, puzzles, painting, dress up, make believe, drawing, play doh etc.

There're lots of kids not in pre-school, and lots of lovely stuff to do, activities, playgroups etc. There're many years of school ahead, just enjoy the time!
