Has January intake for nursery schools also gone?

Where we are, London, they've stopped the Jan intake for Reception. So, from this year they all start in Sept. Does anyone know if this effects nurseries attached to schools? DS is an Oct baby and I'd hoped he'd be able to go to the nursery at the school the Jan after he turns 3 but I'm wondering now if he'll have to wait until the following Sept, i.e. when he'll be practically 4?

we are in scotland so may be a bit different but we have always only had one school intake but 3 intakes for nursery. (although they are now changing it here to start straight after the 3rd birthday rather than wait for the next term)

Check your local authority website to find out about school/nursery admissions

Thanks Seona. LA say nursery is nothing to do with them and I need to ask the school. The school don't seem sure yet!

In England and our January nursery intake started last week (we used to start children straight after their 3rd birthday but EYFS SFF no longer allows this)

Thanks mrz - will you do the same next year even if schools are only doing a sept intake?

In my area schools have always (15+ years) had a single intake in September for reception children
