Can I get free preschool outside of my local council area?

I live in a different local council to where I work. My children currently go to nursery at work. When the oldest turns 3 in April, can i use the free childcare sessions at her current nursery (from September) or will she have to go to one in my local council area? If she does I'll have to start looking now and move them both!

I do, but I'm not sure that all authorities allow it.

Can you not get more information from your nursery. You can't be the only one.

I think you can but am not sure with LA funds it - nursery will know.

You can in our LA.

The funding goes to the setting that is in the LA, regardless of where the child resides.

All the surrounding boroughs in this area work on the same principle.
