Childcare during holidays - what to do?!

Hi there. I am hoping someone can shed some light on this for me, as I have no idea what to do and as all my baby friends are now off on maternity leave again or have not gone back to work, I have no one to ask!

I work full time. Up until recently, we had a nanny share but as my twins were going to a local montisorri preschool a few mornings a week, we bought it to an end - we simply couldn't afford to pay the bulk of our nanny's fees as well as the preschool fees. Unfortunately, it's been impossible to find another nanny share with whom we could share the cost of our nanny more equally, and so it's looking like we'll have to say good bye to her. A REAL shame.

I'm looking in to alternatives: and obviously the best one would be to put them in the preschool full time. BUT what on earth do I do over the holidays? They are not long, but I wouldn't be able to take time off (have already checked with boss, plus I don't have enough holiday) - PLEASE: what do other working mums do out there?

Thanks for your help!

Have you considered a childminder for the twins care before/after preschool & full days in the holidays, although you will be paying for them at both places before they are 3, remember that they will be entitled to 15 hours free education for them per week which would reduce/negate the preschool fees when they qualify. (As long as the preschool is registered to provide the Early Years Education Grant)

Hi - sorry for late reply - been a bit hectic. I haven't looked in to childminders yet: it is an option though. A friend has also suggested that I look in to after school clubs as well - which I will.
Thanks
