What age did you look round?

I have had a bit of a shock recently! DD is 13 months and tbh I hadn't even considered what school/pre-school she will go to. In the last week, 2 mums have mentioned looking round pre-schools and 1 has even put her DD's name down for one. Is this normal? What age was your DC when you looked int pre-school? I can't help but feel that the staff will think I'm mad if I want to look round, otoh I don't want to end up with no choices because I was too slow Confused

Not odd at all, I work in a Pre-school that has a long waiting list, we often get parents apply with their child is a matter of days old.

Our pre school had a names list rather than a waiting list.
Children were offered a place once funding started, and if there were spaces, the term before. Which you paid for.
I sent my dd when funding started.

Thanks everyone, I will start to put feelers out next term. It's so hard to believe that she'll ever be big enough!

I live in central London and for private pre-schools, earliest is best.
For my pfb DT's I had their names down at a few recommended schools within a month of their birth Blush, but I didn't actually look round till they were about a year old.
I don't want to panic you! But I guess it is all dependant on where you live.
