'unsuitable' committee members

Calling all committee Chairs / Secretaries!

Have you ever had an EY2 (used to be DC2) application for a new committee member come back saying that the person was 'unsuitable' as a committee member?

And if so, do you know why (i.e. can you tell me why?)

Thanks in advance

No never happened to me
Are you a member of the ncpta ? They have a helpline and website (you'll need your membership number to access the majority of the site)

unsuitable could be previous convictions/bad debts..

some committees have time limits that you can serve for but thats not official as far as I remember

No, I know what the issue would be if it comes back as unsuitable (not my check, btw, someone else's), I just don't know whether the nature of it would be enough for Ofsted to decline the person.

If that makes any sense Confused

I've spoken to the CRB who say it's Ofsted's decision. I've spoken to Ofsted who say that they treat each case individually so can't confirm. Just wondered if anyone else had been in this position.

until you say what the problem is (which you seem to know) then I don't know what you're really asking?

I know of people whose CRB'S have come back with stuff meaning the school has blocked them from helping out.

[at a loss]

I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to be discreet.

Thanks for trying to help anyway.
