Nursery Schools in South Liverpool?

Is there anyone here with preschool age children in South Liverpool - that is, Allerton, Mossley Hill, Wavertree etc?

As far as I can see, there are only three state nursery schools - Heygreen, Wavertree C of E and St Clares. The first two have been rated 3 and 4 by Ofsted - not great. The third is rated 1, fantastic, obviously, but i'm sure it'll be stupidly oversubscribed?

Paying for nursery won't really be an option as i'm a SAHM, so i'm starting to worry that if DS doesn't get into St Clares, he'll miss out on nursery altogether. I suppose he could go to one of the other two, but I can't help feeling he'd be better off at home with me than at a below-par nursery? I'm not too worried about the actual teaching element at this early stage, but the Ofsted reports raise concerns about moral welfare, pupil well being etc, which is all pretty important even at nursery level.

If anyone is in this area and can advise, i'd be very grateful - thank you! Smile
