Really need to get something to cook, don’t have a lot of money to spare. Anyone any suggestions of what gas / camping stove to go for? Thanks

More detail of your requirements are needed before informed advice can be given...

As the pp said it depends on what you want to do with it. One for a backpacking trip can be fitted in to a pocket but is only good for boiling enough water to add to one of those dehydrated meal packs. Great for a few days for one person.... Not so good for a family meal.

If it is one of the larger ones you can quite often see them going for free / cheap on thrift sites or eBay. Names.. Coleman's are good.

I’ve just spent £18 plus gas canisters for a single ring. Then we can make simple, one pot meals for a few days.

You can get gas camping stoves with 2 rings and a grill- unfortunately I gave mine away- but they use much bigger gas canisters and use up much more storage space.

I have a camping stove but I have remembered I have a fondue set. The stainless steel ones are actually pretty cheap on Amazon and, with the usual care warnings about flames like you would with candles, can be used indoors.
I have a le Crueset one that I got on EBay years ago. I just looked and the same one is about £35 on EBay
