Prepping for war

Reading the news and really thinking war in some form will come sooner rather than later. Any basic prep we can do? Or just have enough food, water etc for a few days?

Any food grade water container will do.

Well I've cracked today seeing the latest lunacy from Trump and with various meetings scheduled for later this week.

My stash was almost non-existent and couldn't really justify the cost but today I just thought sod it and have spent about a hundred quid on dried and tinned food, water, meds, toiletries and batteries.

Tomorrow planning to have a good sort out and get it all stashed somewhere sensible.

I really hope I'm being a drama llama but it seems more than likely that some kind of shit is going to hit the fan sooner rather than later.

Thanks to Mumsnet we prepped in advance of Brexit. It all came in very handy when Covid madness hit. We had plenty of loo role and didn’t need to shop!

However we have never rebuilt our stockpiles and I’ve been saying to DH we need to! And more so this time.

Anyone have a generator they’d recommend?

@cancancan I was the same. Had a decent stash and delivery slots booked four weeks ahead when Covid hit. Thank God as my lovely dad was put on end of life care for other reasons a few days later and I ended up shielding so I could look after him.

I've not got a generator yet, but have this on my wishlist - I think the brand was recommended on here:

I have a jackery solar generator which is great because you can charge it up for free. It's small and portable. I would recommend it.

Another vote for the Jackery. Dh uses a cpap so it's our emergency back up for that- and we have had to use it!

We had a power cut last week and used it to run the WiFi, the fridge and two chest freezers for hours. It was such a relief having the back up.
