New Government, will you be prepping differently?

I feel uneasy, we have had 14 years of "stuff", increases in the cost of living, increases in poverty, increases of people needing to use food banks, increases in bills etc. It was all a bit rubbish but now I feel uneasy because I dont know what to expect. I am guessing that CoL will increase again but what else? I have been analysing my preps and wondering what I need to do to prepare for the as yet unknown.

We're increasing our preps just in case, we've got as much water as we can store, and about a months supply of easy to heat foods. We've stocked up on basic meds like painkillers and the first aid kit. We're also trying to get our debts cleared in case interest rates go up.

No.

nothing will change.... there is a lack of honesty, morals and integrity from modern politicians.

The are damaging liberal democracy... there really needs to be accountability process or the next government will be Reform UK.

Prepping to leave in a few months. In fact travelling mostly from now until the final move. London has changed beyond belief. I had people visiting in June. We were all shocked. The numbers of people here are off the charts as well. Terrible food and services and bloody expensive for what you get. There is not good quality of life not even in the parks as they are so full. Traffic has become a nightmare. This along with the terrible weather and the prospects of more taxes and increases will not be an incentive for anyone to come to live or stay here. At least for the people who can prop up the economy and be net contributors.

I really wish the hard working honest people the best and hope it is not half as bad with Labour.

No. The cost of living already means I am less prepped than I am comfortable with, but it is also important not to overspend. Finances are an important prep too and I am not going into debt for more stuff.

Labour are going to keep similar to the Conservative finance plan. (Too early, banging headache, ability to write buggered off)

The one thing I can think of that's particularly different is approach to gender ideology...

Medication - I've gradually increased my stock of NHS prescription to 2 months by ordering slightly early every time. There have been shortages recently and I think that this might get worse. I would probably die quite quickly without some of them, so I refuse to feel guilty about it. I've got a good stock of over the counter meds to deal with simple things, coughs, colds, fevers, minor pain, eye infections ect. The only thing I cannot get is mag sulph paste, but I do have a big pot of hoof poultice for horses, this does the same job. Its a new pot, so won't cross contaminate.

Food - We've got about a months worth of easy to heat food and carbs, I want to increase this to two months going into winter, and get more preserved fruit and veg. I bought a 16 kg sack of bread flour and 5 kg of rice due to having a panic last month.

Energy - I'm over paying on my electricity to build up a reserve fund, I've stocked up on calor gas canisters for emergency cooking. We've nearly got enough logs for the winter already. Got wind up radios, loads of batteries and the solar power batteries will keep the freezers and lights going for quite a while if we turn off the central heating and rely on the woodburner.

Water - if we get warning of it going off, we can just fill up both the baths. if we don't, I have 20 litres of drinking water, a full water butt for flushing the loo, and loads of water purification tablets.

Apart from building up stocks a bit more, my preps haven't changed due to the change in government. I have about the same amount of faith in this lot to keep us warm and fed and the last lot, so very little. But time will tell I suppose.
