Hello All
Room for another (not so small but working on it) one?
I live down in South Wales and since the pandemic have really stepped up my game.

I am lucky the house I am in is on top of a mountain with no light blocks so I get a fair bit of sun, my garden is also quite long even with a shed in the bottom so I have a good amount of growing space but I hope to improve it this year. Last year was my first year really growing and I managed to have radishes, courgettes, peas, runner beans, cucumbers, lettuce, rocket, carrots, strawberries, spring onions and a good harvest of potatoes. Im hoping this year to double my growing space, have moved my greenhouses location as well as making a bigger strawberry bed. Have a hoop house on the way to protect the strawberries (who knew dogs liked strawberries) as well as a fence to fence off my veg patch from dogs. Im also adding a patio apple tree and a blueberry bush for extra veg and I do forage for blackberries when the time comes to make into puddings, syrups and jams.

My husband and I also have purchased a van which we are turning into a day van/camper but keep supplies in there as a bug out vehicle too and have just added a roof tent for it as well so the kids have their own space rather than trying to fit 3 adults (me , husband and 19 year old son) daughter and 3 dogs in there.

I am in the process of decluttering and making space for more stocks. We have things like an incinerator / fire pit in the garden, stove and camping equipment, day van, trailer tent with cooker, generator, garden, greenhouse, water butt, etc.

Im glad I have found another outlet for preppers as well. I also belong to a group on FB for women only but always nice to have other outlets to talk to!

Welcome, I am envious of your set up. Especially the van!

Welcome, I am envious of your set up. Especially the van!

We only got the van last year but it was a sensible buy for us.
Husband and kids are keen mountain bikers and we needed a vehicle we could fit them in but it has saved us so much money.
Husband works away from home a few times a month so he uses it as accommodation so he doesn't have to stay in hotels or make long journeys back and forth.

We just started slowly with it though. I made curtains for privacy and we brought a play mat flooring that we have lined the floor with over the ply board. Husband has since made a double bed with storage underneath that is removable or can be strapped up out of the way and we slowly have added bits to it like a small camping stove, pots and pan, mugs with tea/coffee/sugar, camping plates and cutlery, husband fixed an old petrol generator so he has that in there too as a backup. He also brought a large tarp that we fix above the back doors that acts as a sun shade or a roof for when we are cooking.

We actually went out in it for our anniversary and had breakfast with a view and it was great! Now we have the roof tent too we are hoping to get out in it more now and obviously keep adding to it as and when we need to. Have yet to see how we all cope in it though. Its been two of us max until now but we are looking to do a full outing in the nicer weather - my, husband, 19 year old, 13 year old daughter, a greyhound a lurcher and a chihuahua so I may feel very different about it after that!
