'Preppers Recommendations' thread

Been on the Preppers board for years. Stuff comes up on individual threads all the time like wind up radios / reliable brand of power bank etc. It's really handy, especially when people can vouch for a product. Don't think we've ever had a place to 'store' all such recommendations though, so thought I'd start such a place. Even better if anyone spots any special offers.

Any suggestions for really good slippers? My floors always seem to be cold, so I'm looking for something with a decent sole.

I have some Ugg style boots for around the house in winter, also some Seasalt slip on ones that live at my family member's cold house (stone tiled kitchen) for when I visit, they are thick and fleecy with a rubber sole.

I have these

The sole is waterproof so great if you need to pop outside to the bin etc.

This is my current slipper of choice: www.shepherdofsweden.com/eu/women/sheepskin-slippers/women-annie-sheepskin-slippers-camel-1

They're wonderful and so warm.

Worth getting a torch which can also act as a power bank if necessary. Obviously won't last through a length blackout but really useful in the event of a power cut

reading a thread on mn last night and it discovered there is such a thing as a tick remover as there is a proper way to remove them toi reduce the chance of lyme disease.

Dd has already had that. Got the bullseye rash. was prescribed antibiotics.

Mentioned it on another thread. There are solar garden lights of various types in Aldi right now. Strongly recommend in case of blackouts to bring indoors. I have some. They work fine.
