How long can you store bottled water for?

That's it really, people say to have a stock of bottled water but I'm wondering how long can this be stored before it needs to be used?

There is usually a bb date printed on the bottles.

I think it can go beyond the BBE date so long as it's not stored on concrete. Happy to be corrected though.

You need to keep it in the dark if you want it to last.

I keep a little past the BB date (which is usually a few years) then use it for pet drinking water and replace the supply.

What’s the reasoning behind not storing on concrete? I think ours is on the garage concrete floor

Water from tap -6 months. We tend to use for hot water bottles or garden or toilet if gone past this time.
Bottled water had a BBD but would last longer

@ChurchlightJane apparently only heated concrete is a problem
