@Sideorderofchips yes, that is the only downside - that luckily they are well off and have everything they really need to survive! I prefer it though over some of the American books where they conveniently have a bunker, armoury and 10 years worth of MRE’s . Would love to find some really realistic books.

Believe me. No one has a bunker and it's fairly realistic.

I too dislike books where they conveniently have everything right on the doorstep. Ordinary people don't have sheep in their field, a wood fire, chickens etc
