Christmas supplies may be affected by mainland Europe port issues

See www.thegrocer.co.uk/sourcing/british-food-trapped-in-europe-as-port-chaos-spreads/651282.article

Short version; severe delays in Felixstowe have forced some ships to divert to mainland Europe ports such as Rotterdam. Problem is the shipping lines are refusing to release them to the supermarkets to drive round to the UK instead insisting they must wait for a feeder vessel to ship back to Felixstowe.

I would expect spices (Asia) and in particular Cranberry (US) to be affected, also sweet potatoes (US).

Thnx, I saw that article but didn't really extend the thinking to non-EU source goods. Bugger.

That is, stockpiling by shops to have stuff available for customers. If, like me, you've been slowly building up your stash at home, you won't need to trouble the shops that much.

Bumping this thread because I thought this time.com/6112491/supply-chain-shopping/ might be pertinent this year.
