Does anyone else homebrew?

It's a hobby but it's slid into prepping.

We currently have brewing-

12 bottles red wine
12 bottles apple wine
6 bottles of pineapple hooch
6 bottles of peach hooch
6 bottles of blueberry wine
6 bottles of apple and grape wine
6 bottles of grape and blueberry wine.

Sometimes we do ginger beer or the big beer kits but mostly we use fruit juices or fruit with yeast or sugar. It's very cheap.

We don't have a still but do sometimes freeze jack.

Seems a prepper thing so assumed we're not the only ones.

Just elderflower champagne. Use the natural yeast on the flowers.

I haven't made that yet. I'll have to try it.

Do you have your own plant or do you forage?

I usually take flowers from the plant hanging over exes back yard from the abandoned railway. Last year climbed on the junk piled in the alley to reach.

I do, @LetsBounce - a hangover (haha) from the days when wine wasn't affordable.

It's a very lacksadaisical affair, using a bucket, some sugar, some yeast, and whatever can be found outside that's fermentable. Currently have 33L bucket of blackberry wine and 25L bucket of elderberry, raspberry, gooseberry wine - both in the last stages.

I don't use sugar for anything else, but I always keep a few kgs spare in the cupboard in case something scrumpable appears that can be made into wine.

Hiya, we have also made elderflower and elderberry in the past but not had a go in years. Might suggest to hubby that we start up again, it tasted really good but we did have a cellar back then and a bit more short of space now.
