Storing homemade tomato sauce in jars???

I've made a substantial amount of tomato sauce from the glut of garden tomatoes and was wondering if there's a way I can put it into jars and keep it for a bit or is it going to be a freezer job??

I think you can if you sterilise the jars first. You need properly sealing jars too.

Yes, tomatoes and sauce can be canned (in jars) and processed in a boiling water “bath”.
You need jars/lids and a large enough pot to cover the jars with about 1-2 inches of water. Should be easy to find videos online.

You need to properly 'can' it - so into sterilised jars then boil up again for a bit.
As the tomato sauce isn't a preserve,, containing high levels of sugar, acid etc, it is quite a risk for mould and botulism.

Really easier just to freeze it.

Yes, as an experienced canner I just freeze in ziplok freezer bags much easier. Less mess.

Yes it will be fine. We make apple sauce from apples from our trees and store them in glass jars. It lasts forever.

Mmm really don't fancy a dose of botulism so will take the advice of more experienced preppers and go for the freezer option!
