Anyone got any thoughts?

I’m trying to think of consumables that could be reusables instead and have got some dishcloths. Also making sure our stock levels are maintained of general stuff. And thinking about what is really annoying to run out of and not swappable.

I’m trying to think about cold weather entertainment. So if right now we’re all about garden toys and walking and cycling, is there anything that would be useful to have if there was a lockdown in cold weather? Craft stuff I guess. Yet more jigsaws.

Anyone else got any ideas? I’m reading the ‘lessons learnt’ thread.

I did 70 quid in Boots stocking up all the meds. I've started my Brexit stockpile restock list, so aiming for 4 weeks of everything plus a couple of months of supplementary and expensive stuff.

I'm looking at ordering a chest freezer.
I'll be getting a few bottles of Calpol 6+ ( only 3 left at the moment for 2 DC )
Some paracetamol
Handwash, gel and shampoo and a big pk of washing powder
Cereal bars and multipacks of crisps and chocolate

I bought a thermometer and oximeter beginning of May.
Argos seems to have them in stock now ( oximeters) so I'd be quick because from March- May I checked daily and they were out of stock - anywhere near us in N E Eng anyway and Amazon had them but was 3+months wait for delivery.

Looking at chest freezer too, but need to place it in a detached garage which needs a rewire (haphazard DIY wiring by previous owner) and we've been quoted £500 to do that... seems steep but for the peace of mind... could also use it as a workshop throughout the winter months with lighting etc.
Really need more freezer space as we only have enough space in the FF for a few berries, peas, ice cream. I'd really like to have a back up of fully prepared healthy meals so thinking to go for it and get the chest freezer ASAP.

I think I’ve gone full prepper now, but has anyone looked at military ration meals? I have no idea what they are like but they are long life and probably don’t take up much space? With a second wave coming alongside Brexit, I thought they might help? I was thinking about testing some. Has anyone else tried them?

Timely thread for me because I actually ran out of tin tomatoes last week. Also crossed my mind that I need to rotate the rest of my Brexit box (what’s left) to use up older food first.

I’ve replaced my paracetamol and was surprised how quickly stocks diminished when I was poorly. Also have a new thermometer (old one broke after twenty years) and an oximeter. Doing a torch and battery audit is a good idea. Also considering a chest freezer for the garage, are they expensive to run?
