Bug out - where would you go?

Obviously you should not reveal actual location... this would break prepper code. But, I often see people referring to “a place we will go”. I am overly nosey! Do you have a remote holiday home? A relative’s house? A caravan somewhere? A tent?

I have a good quality tent and camping equipment, but only enough cooking fuel to last us a couple of days. So that could be an option.

My lovely grandma died in 2018 and her house is very rural, and empty. I have a key. So that would work, but, It’s in a small village rather than isolated.

We could head to one of two bunk houses (one very isolated) that are connected to a family hobby - but there would likely be all the other members thinking that too 😂

We could probably live in DH’s work van for a bit 🤔

Plan A is relatives house 30 mins walk/less than 5 mins away but that is actually near the centre of a large city and may not suit for all sorts of reasons.
Plan B is a sibling's house about 30 mins drive away but they will be selling soon to move 2 hours drive away
Plan C is ....hmmm ... I'm stuck. It would requiring driving a long distance to get to family and possibly camping in the car. And when the petrol runs out in the car ....
Theoretically we have the means to camp.
We have dual Irish nationality so could aim to throw ourselves in the mercy of a country that already has enough economic shit to deal with. That's in Mad Max fantasy territory to be honest.
But, to be realistic , bugging in is our only practical option. We can't afford a second home in some remote location - this is the UK, not a lot of remote in this country even if we had the money. Which we don't.
So rather than beat myself up because of what I can't do, I focus on what I can do. Which is hunker down with or without the grid for a while. Work on the basis that my suburban neighbours would be in the same boat (with fewer supplies) and I'd have to find a way of liaising with them without compromising my stuff. Help them to help themselves.

Oh, that’s interesting. In my head a bug out should be rural... but actually, you might be safer in a city. In fact we live opposite our (large) town’s police station.

bug in (the house) more realistic option
bug out -we have a tent or the shed and would probably go down the bottom of the garden with a shit load of supplies
