Sore finger? I actually trapped mine in something the other day and it was proper sore. I did my cackhanded version of RICE. Rest. Ice. Compress. Elevate. Although in my head it was duck dive dip duck and dodge - one for fans of the film "Dodgeball ". I also put some comfrey balm on it.
It initially started to swell up like Aunt Marge in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. But I seemed to have stopped it. And it cleared up in a few days. Bit of a nasty bruise. All good.

A week ago, I bashed the corner of my thumb nail on the steering wheel and split the corner of my thumb nail off. It has been agony for a week. It had just about recovered to sore and not gasping every time gel got in or it was touched...

Then I peeled the corner of the other thumb nail off while peeling carrots. Symmetrical injuries.

Very, very pissed off.

Prepping: plasters, sudocreme.

Prepping failure: being a wimp.

Don't forget worm medicine - they'll appear after the nits! We have more trouble with thread worm than nits unfortunately - give me a louse any day Grin

BlackeyedSusan · 09/03/2020 18:53

Fuck. I forgot the worm meds.

You can get rid of them by cleaning everyday.

The one thing I didn't prep for! Bloody head lice!
Found a few eggs this evening, didn't find a culprit though...
Anyone know if you can buy head lice treatment off the shelf or do I have to wait until the pharmacy counter opens in boots/Tesco etc?

TakeMeToChachacha · 31/03/2020 22:49

We had headlice in the house for about 3 weeks in Jan. I have been vigilant/paranoid since then but now that the nursery is closed and we are all at home nit-free and there's no risk of playing beside other heads and getting reinfected, this is one big advantage of lockdown. I can hug my children properly again and not think "HEADS! KEEP HEADS APART!"
