I thought the prep topics would be a lot busier considering what is happening and the uncertainty of each day.
I thought more people would be on here posting ,or are people staying silent about prepping do you think?

I’m sorry, but I predate computers! I have woven cordage and basketry from nettle stems and brambles, I learnt from other people in workshops and practical settings, but as to links, I can’t do any better than google! Native Hands in Sussex do lovely workshops.

Cheers anyway @ArmchairTraveller . You've sparked an idea for a project. I wish I were closer to Sussex, though.

I was given the food for free book ages ago. I must look it out.

I watched a news item on the tariff situation for meat and it compounded my belief that we shouldn't even be exporting/importing meat..farmers should be producing for this country alone. Eat well and buy local..

@PotteryGirl , that's probably for a different conversation but there is an issue of affordability. And I know there is a discussion on quality and availability too. But the reality for most people is that they can't afford locally produced meat on current supply and distribution methods.
On a general prepper note - I invested in a canner last year and have saved meat this way this year as well as using my freezer.

@ArmchairTraveller I wouldn’t ever advocate stripping natural supplies through foraging - like I said it’s an interest of mine from a natural medicine point of view (as in a handful). Besides, no chance of a sniff of wild blackberries round our way, they get stripped by all the grandparents before you even realise they are in season Grin

Plus I like to think that actual preppers only ever take what they need, even when foraging for food purposes Smile
