Storing matches/batteries/alcohol gel

Lurker here who has just updated their basic prepping store for Brexit/any bad weather over the next few weeks /months...

Im storing in the cellar with one closed
lid plastic box containing all the dry foodstuff and identical box on top containing the non-edible stuff like batteries, lamps, matches, medicine, alcohol gel candles etc.

But is it a hazard to store batteries, matches and alcohol gel all together in a sealed container?!

If so what’s the best way? I wanted to keep all that stuff away from the children also so thought the cellar with a child gate which they never go in would be ideal as well as cool for the edible stuff- but maybe not as all the household gas stuff (meter, exposed pipes etc) are down there too?

Any ideas very much appreciated, thanks!!

I would put them in separate containers personally: and keep the batteries in their original packaging, especially those little square ones, they can explode (or be ruined) if the ends touch.

Is your cellar dry? I’d be wary of leaving batteries and matches there if it’s damp because it could stop them working.
