Hi. Just wondered if anyone has a freeze dryer and if so, how does it work/what can you do/cost etc? Is it worth it? Thank you

I think they are prohibitively expensive and so I got a dehydrator.
I splashed out on importing a pressure canner too.
I still think these two are cheaper.
It's a shame freeze dried food is hard to get here in UK.

Thank you. Can I ask what you can do with a pressure canner? Jam?

Meat mainly. Saved taco mince and plain chicken pieces (obviously not together!). It's a work in progress and saves space in the freezer.

A water bath canner is for high acid foods or things like jam/syrups etc...
A pressure canner is for low acid foods such as meat, fish, veg etc...
