So, hoping to have move early Autumn to a house with a large garden.

Can anyone recommend a simple idiots timetable style book to plan growing my own vegetables.

Also, any advice on storing apples, pears and plums as trees produce more than we can eat!

Am I right in thinking that there is very little that's harvested in March/April?

Great tips @cloudtree - maybe it was the watering if they are very thirsty.

Having a day of garden prep today. I need to take in the green tomatoes which haven't ripened and prep the space ready for the things that can be planted now ready for spring. Whatever happens with Brexit its good to have food to supplement whatever is available in the supermarkets.

You can ripen green tomatoes on a window sill. I think you can wrap them in newspaper and stick them in a drawer to ripen them or store them with a banana.
Or make green tomato chutney.

Yes I've been ripening them with an apple. They go a bit fluffy though if you ripen them that way so not great. I'm hoping for a greenhouse for Christmas so that next year's crop is a bit more successful.
