Lifestraws?

Just had an ad pop up on my Facebook for LifeStraws, anyone heard of them and are they really that easy to use/ is it that easy to get clean water?

I thought they weren't particularly recommended unless in really, really dire circumstances (although can't remember why), water purification tablets seems to be the way to go for most preppers.

I seem to remember reading something about them not being that good and only as a last resort

A good alternative to purification tablets would be a Berkey water filtration/purification system

Something I will definitely be buying myself as soon as funds allow

I think part of the problem seems to be that it will only filter water you are about to drink from the source, which means that you have to stay right by an unpurified water source instead of purifying plenty, storing it for later use and being able to travel, like you would with a filtration system.

In a real dire emergency I guess it would be handy though.
