Bug out bag?

I'm after some advice. I've been thinking about pulling together a bug out bag , and was wondering if people thought whether other people have one, and if so what do you have in it?

I don't have one, but if I did I'd put in a first aid kit, torch, spare batteries, spare clothing, basic toiletries, dried packet food (ie soups, pasta, dried meat) and water or a filter.

I'd add a space blanket, a mini sewing kit and a pen knife or multi-tool of some kind.

Make that 2 space blankets - they take up minimal room and you can collect rainwater with the spare

Would you pack important paperwork? Passports etc.

I have 2.

1 ordinary sized rucksack where I keep things we use regularly: important documents (passports, medical, house, birth certs, external hard drive with all photos etc backed up etc), first aid kit, spare cash, map of the city, windup torch + survival blankets/rain ponchos/life straw

It's very accessible.

1 camping rucksack with a lot of my general prepping stuff:
1 set of spare clothes, toiletries, nappies, baby wipes
Windup radio, torch and lantern
Swiss Army knife, work gloves
Disposable gloves
Life straw/biscuits/water bottle
Vitamins/painkillers
Playing cards, sewing kit
Groundsheet
Sporks

This one is in my wardrobe with my coats and my hiking shoes that have clean socks in them.

My bug out bags aren't great but the basics are there - in case of evacuation for fire I would grab them and go (and use money to buy us more clothes etc) In case of SHTF I'm assuming I'd have a 10 minute warning and would grab more clothes plus outdoor gear for DCs plus food.

I might get another camping rucksack and put our sleeping bags in just in case (we never use them).DH won't even give me a pair of joggers and a tshirt for him- he's not very into prepping! understatement
