Hi all

I had my DT's 4 years ago on the 1st December, 11 weeks early. Bizarrely I am now 23 + 4 with DC3 and due on the SAME day as the DT's were due.

As I approach the DT's 4th birthday I am getting more and more nervous about going into prem labour again and going through the hellish 8 weeks in SCBU....

Just some words of reassurance that I will hold out this time.....

Hang on in there, it may all be fine. My DD was 14 weeks prem - two years later my DS was 4 DAYS early!

It depends on the reasons for the early birth before too, remember twins tend to be earlier.

Try not to worry too much.

I had my DTDs at 26+6

DD3 came along at 39+5.

Often the fact that is was twins is enough to make them prem. The fact that this one is a singleton means everything will probably be fine.

thanks ABF - I was never told why they were early - spontenaous labour, no infections or pre-eclampsia - so consultant just says relax, but call us at the first twinge!

i am going down to 4 day weeks at work until my mat leave, so I intend to use that day to do SOD ALL and hopefully keep baby where they should be for now.

One thing that did worry me - I have a rubbish pelvic floor, and i seem to remember reading somewhere that it can cause prem labour? am i imagining it or over egging my imagination?

I know a lot of people with prem twins + 1dc and none of the other dc have been prem. My ds1 was 37 weeks and my twins were 35 weeks and no complications with either.
Good luck - 3 is the magic number!
