Hi,
My Lo corrected age is 11 months old and her adjusted age is 13 months. She was born 7 weeks early. My reason for this post is because I am worried that she is not responding to her name. She does turn to noise and when I tell her no. She does simle when she sees and hears her granny coming into the house. When she hears her daddy's voice when he comes home from work she turns and simles. Just worried as she dosent respond at all to her name. I would be grateful for advice please as it is causing me alot of anxiety. Thanking you.🙂

What is she like for all of her other milestones? Talking, crawling, walking, eating?

Also, is her name easily mistaken for something similar? It could be that they can't single it out if it sounds similar to a commonly said word

Thanks for your reply.she is babbling, pointing, crawling, cruising, stands on her own for a few seconds. Eating fine. Will take whatever is given to her. She is not fussy with food. No her name is not similar to anything else. Thank you.

Honestly both my kids were like this.
They were just engrossed in whatever thry were doing

At 3.5 my oldest still ignores me half the time 🤷🏻‍♀️

Its hard but try not to worry.

Neither of mine hit the 12m say 3 words thing and both are fine they were just developing other skills

Thanks a million for your message. I appreciate it. I know it is easier said then done with the worrying. 🙂

Some noises are easier to hear than others, especially at a distance as are some words. I have always had problems with my ears for different reasons and can still remember not knowing whether my mum was calling my dad's name or mine when I was around 2/3. It could be the pitch of your voice, too - high pitched voices are harder to discern than ĺower voices, which could be a reason why she responds to your husband. It wouldn't hurt to speak to your health visitor or doctor about your concerns.

Thanks for your message. I will speak to my health visitor. We had a check up with her paediatric in July and he said all was OK with her and that 10 months was too young for responding to her name. The health visitor was also impressed with her check up at 9 months.

The only reason I am even half relaxed with no 2 who was is nicu for a while is because id be there done that woth the oldest.

The older women in my family all say the same thing. You as a mother intuitively know if you've baby is happy/ healthy or something is wrong and I found this to be true.

Totally agree. Mother knows best. I just got to find a doctor who will listen to me.🙈
