I sadly lost my ds when he was born 26 weeks into my pregnancy, i went on to have my ds whos now 11. I made friends nine years ago (5 years after my ds died) with a lady whos daughter had been born 8 weeks early weighing 3lb 8oz. She then got pregnant when her daughter was three and her son was born 10 weeks early and weighed 3lb 15oz, it makes me glad that there can be positive stories to do with premature birth as well as sad stories like mine. You would now never know that either of my friends children were born early and her son will be six tomorrow.

He's had a lovely birthday, i went to see him today and his mum was telling him how i was the first one to see him after his mum dad and sister, My ds and I gave him a facial hair kit for his dressing up box and some juggling balls which went own a storm.
He and his sister are very special to me, they arent baptised but i treat them the same as my godchildren and call them my "nearlies"!!! I found it very hard to go onto the SCBU when he was born it had been eight years since i had been there with my ds but it laid a lot of the sad times to rest going up there,,, i had a good cry while i was out in the corridor and that made me feel better!
