Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have 19 week old twins but 8 weeks corrected as they were born at 32 weeks. We went for their routine brain ultrasound which showed bright areas on their brain and would need to be checked again in a couple of months time. We’ve had them done again recently and one baby’s head scan was all clear however her sister still has the bright areas and will an MRI.

The dr who did the scan was very dismissive and didn’t explain anything to me so now I am feeling very anxious. Has anyone else been through this? What actually are the bright areas? We as questions but no one ever explains. Feeling lost and very worried. Please help

Are you still in touch with your NICU outreach? I'm sure they could help in this situation, it's my experience that they would jump through fire-y hopes for their families!

It's right and vital that you and your family understand what is happening with your babies and their health.

I hope your little ones are ok OP, it sounds very stressful for you, but you have to try and remember how strong these little babies really can be, I speak from experience, albeit that mine was not considered micro.

Don't forget to be kind to yourself too, those early days are IMPOSSIBLY hard! Flowers

So sorry that the Dr was dismissive.

How are things now @Lashpotato?
