I am assuming by the fact that your cervix has been checked that you have actually been seen by your doctor, so I dont know how much more I can help, but if you haven’t already done so, I would call maternity triage or your midwife for further advice. My labour at 33 weeks started with bloody discharge, but I recognise this isn’t always the case.
Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Did you get through to the midwife op? No advice here sorry, except to say don’t worry, just keep the midwives informed.

If labour is starting there are things they can do to stop it or delay it. And even if baby does come early, 33 weeks isn’t too bad, the vast vast majority of babies born at this stage survive (99.5%) and have no lasting problems, but need to spend some time in neonatal to grow.

I assume you are having cervical length scans as they think you are at risk of premature birth? I had these until I was 24 weeks pregnant and nothing would be done (ie a cervical stitch) until I was 25mm cervical length. I was 28mm when I had my last scan (at 24 weeks) and had a c-section at 35 weeks.

The cervix softens before labour, but this can be weeks and weeks beforehand.

I didn’t have cervical scans before my first, so don’t know at what point my cervix shortened, but gave birth (spontaneously) at 33 weeks. You are already into the “late” premature phase so outcomes are very, very good even if you do go into labour soon. Have you shown any other signs of labour at all? My waters broke early, and I must have passed the plug at some point... but I didn’t have any contractions etc. until I went into labour properly.

Good luck with it all! Both my babies are absolutely fine and no worse for being (late) premature at all.
