Chances of a second prem after placenta abruption

I had my little boy at 34+1 due to placenta abruption. I really want a second in the future but so scared it'll happen again. What are the chances has anyone had a premature baby due to placenta abruption then gone on to have a normal pregnancy?

TIA x

My placenta abrupted at 32 weeks and my consultant told me that I had a 10% chance of it happening again (every pregnant person has a 1% chance). I look at it that I have a 90% chance of all being ok.
I’m currently pregnant with my second and under consultant led care; it’s taken me a while to want to try again and it’s hard as I’m quite anxious but I’m hoping it will all be worth it.

I had my first baby due to a placenta abruption at 33 weeks, my second was born on his due date.

My first DC was stillborn at 20 weeks due to placental abruption and haemorrhage, so I was monitored very carefully in my second pregnancy. DC2 ended up being born very slightly premature, but for completely unrelated reasons, and was fine.

If you do get pregnant again, tell every single healthcare professional you see how anxious you are about this. Take every opportunity to ask about having extra checks. You may not always get them, but be really vocal and keep that conversation open about how significant this is for you, and what could be done to help you feel better and to get the best possible care for any future pregnancies and DCs.

It's daunting to get pregnant again after something like that, but you'll know if and when the time comes that you're ready to take on the challenge. Good luck!

I had a c section at 38 weeks because of a previous PA. It all went well.

My first was born at 33 weeks because of PA. I was very nervous during my second pregnancy but was closely monitored and took baby aspirin throughout on advice of the consultant and had a planned c section a couple of days before my due date.
