Hi,
My baby boy was born at 25+5 weeks and we are 7 weeks into our NICU journey. They keep telling me to take it one day at a time but it is impossible not to think about what the future holds for him.
I would love to hear your stories of how your early babies progressed particularly if they were a similar gestation.
Also did you go on to have any more babies and how did those pregnancies go?
Thanks guys.x

Hi olive952,
I have read your post and had to make a quick post.
How is your baby doing?
What did they weigh?
I had a 25 w 4d baby born 1lb 7oz and she was recently discharge from NICU 3 weeks ago.
My journey in NICU was a long one of 14weeks (97days). Most common problems you name, she's had. The only thing kept me going was caring for her throughout her stay (ie: cares, nappy, expressing, feeding and bathing).
I know it's sounds common but the day will come when you are sitting at home with your baby. I couldn't believe it until discharge but it's true.

Hello @Olive592 I was just wondering how you are both getting on now. Is LO still in hospital?

Didn't want to read and run. I had a 24+5 weeker. Hes 6 months old today 10 weeks 3 days corrected. He was in hospital up to last week after a long long battle. Born at 1lb 5oz now 9lb 8oz today. If you want to ask anything then email me [email protected] xx

Hi, I've only just seen these replies to my post from months ago!
After a total of 13 weeks in hospital and 2 operations we got home. Albie is now just over 6 months old and is 3 months corrected.
On the whole he's doing amazing, packing on weight, giving the odd smile and even tucking into some veg purée.
Among many things that happened to him during his bumpy landing he did have brain bleeds so we are waiting to see how he develops, he has weekly physio and so far things look good. The only thing that is really worrying me currently is that he doesn't make eye contact I'm hoping it will come but really feel he should be doing that by now.
I so wish I'd seen theses replies at the time (don't know why I didn't get notifications?!?) as it would have helped to talk during those long NICU days.xx
