My 24 weeker turns 1 year actual

Thought I should share with you that today my 24 weeker turned 1 year actual (if she had been born on her due date) unfortunately she was born 16 weeks early weighing just 1lbs 3oz.

Developmentally she is crawling, cruising and pulling herself up as well as chatting a lot and even attempts to sing nursery rhymes! She is not on oxygen anymore, still has a hole in her heart but its closing and surgery will be an option in the future if it doesn't.

Just wanted to share incase there where any other mums with very Prem babies like her or facing very early labour! It is possible

Photos are from the day she was born, the day she was due when we was in nicu (so 40 weeks corrected) and today when she's "actually" one year old xx

Wow what a beautiful little ray of hope!

Wow, such a milestone for you. She is beautiful. My 27 weekers are almost 13 but I remember how frightening it was. Best wishes to you all Flowers

Thanks everyone! It was definitely a horrible time and a long 120 day stay but got there in the end! I had my son at 33 weeks with just a 8 day nicu stay and thought that was hard but was nothing in comparison! The long nights you spend unable to sleep incase the phone rings telling you bad news is unbearable. When you see a baby that tiny you question how they will pull through let alone see days like I do now of her crawling happy and chatting, just proves how strong they can be.

Looking at the pic of her when she was born and then the pic of her now is just incredible - what a thriving little girl! It's just amazing that she's come so far and has overcome so much this early in life.

Much love and best wishes to you both for the future X x x
