my two boys are still so sleepy all the can manage is 1.5hrs between being fed and awake. They were born 10wks early as they were triplets but one of my beautiful boys passed away.

They just seem like they want to sleep just wondering if anyone else finds this?

My condolences on your loss.

I was setting alarms for feeds until 3 months after they were born, because they just wouldn't reliably ake up for feeds on their own. Are you still seeing anyone from the hospital? You need specialist advice, really.

Thanks, it's been a really tough few months. We are still getting some support from the hospital nurses and hv coming out to see us. We did say that they were sleeping until 1 or 2am but they suggested we feed at 10 or 11pm.

During the day they feed every four hrs stay up for 1.5 tops and just want to sleep till their next feed. I may give my hv a phone tomorrow and see what she says.

If they are 21 weeks actual and were 10 weeks early then they are 11 weeks corrected - is that right? If so then 4 hrs between feeds and staying up for 1.5hrs max would be pretty normal for 11 weeks I think.

Do they wake themselves for feeds and feed well?

So sorry about the triplet who didn't make it.

Hi minipie that's right 11wks corrected age. During the day they wake and make it clear they are hungry.

At night they will sleep 6 hrs and get very unsettled they take a full feed anything between 6&7oz then wake another 4 hrs and take between 3&5oz.

Thanks its been a very hard few months for our family just feeling our lives are getting back on track.

Hi, I found this page www.savvytotsleep.com/all-categories/average-nap-time-by-age which gives average awake time by age. Looks like different books give slightly different times but according to most of them 1.5 hrs max awake time is very normal for 11 weeks.

Thanks I've had a look at the link and it looks like they are doing what an 11wk old would be doing. I'm just going to watch and follow their lead for a while.
