Shoes! Can anyone help me find some for small feet

Took our DS (14 months) to get measured for his first pair of proper shoes yesterday as he's now toddling about a bit (albeit with hand holding). His feet are too small! The assistant in clarks said his feet don't measure up to the first size, in fact he's got a way to go, and we should try again in a month or so.

Is there anywhere out there that makes smaller proper shoes for prem babies? i know hes small for his age, but surely there's somewhere that does shoes for smaller babies? And if not there bloody should be!

I'd love to be able to let him toddle outside and have a plodge in the snow but those pram shoes are no good for that. :(

I've no idea- stupid shoe gauge wouldn't measure small enough. He's currently wearing 6-9 month pram shoes, but I'll give Start Rite a look, thanks families

are you really in Ipswich, if so i always took mine to the shoe shop in Woodbridge. DS2 (the prem one was a v late walker) but ds1 walked at 10.5 months and had tiny feet, never had a problem with proper shoes other than the price!

6-9 months size is about an EU size 15 or 16 (only about a half size between the two), or a UK 1.
There are a few brands that make shoes in these sizes but you may find them hard to come by.
Ricosta, Umi, Garvelin and Bellamy all make first shoes in those sizes but the choice will be limited and they are not cheap brands.
I had a tiny one who walked early and her first shoes were size 15 - it was very difficult for quite a while to find shoes to fit.
I am fairly sure that StartRite do pre-walkers from a size 1 and often they are suitable for indoor and light outdoor use.
Try your local independents they will probably be more able to help than a Clarks outlet.

I've only just seen this. I have a pair of DS's old shoes that are hush puppies, size 2. I've tried to give them away but all his baby mates are too big for them by the time they walk! (He was a tiny 27 weeker.) Am very happy to send them if they're any use. Plenty of wear in them.
