Termination did not work and now I’m 13 weeks, need reassurance about risks of continuing this pregnancy!

found out I was pregnant with baby number 3, I will have 3 under 4! My eldest would be 3 years 7 months. We aren’t financially ready for another baby, my career is just starting to re flourish after two pretty much b2b pregnancy/mat leaves! We decided to terminate (I was set on the decision but my partner wasn’t but obviously my body my choice so he was supportive) cut to now I’m still pregnant and 13 weeks!!! The termination didn’t work, we’re now in a situation where neither of us want to carry on with termination due to gestation and current scans showing baby is perfectly healthy and has been ‘untouched’ by any of the medication! I still don’t want another baby so I’m finding it very difficult coupled with the fact we may have harmed this baby in the process and we won’t know until baby is here! Please can someone give me some reassurance as not many people get to this point so stats and figures are limited!

That must be incredibly difficult, op. Hopefully someone will be along soon with experience/advice but I hope you are doing ok and reaching out for counselling/MH support if needed

You’re probably struggling with the pregnancy but once baby is here you may feel different. It’s so normal to have this anxiety and panic which comes with the hormones. I’m not sure why more women speak up about it. In terms of finance etc you’ll adjust automatically and become more frugal etc. with your job…it’s your choice if you want to go back after maternity etc.

I’m really sorry to hear that the medication failed if you still want to terminate do you have the option of having a surgical termination?
